2014 LA Auto Show: Tipped Audi Reveals A9-Previewing Concept
Audi sales have never been better and the cars have never been at higher popularity. In 2013 Audi has reached record in sales and sales in this year have topped it by 10.5% already. It is estimated that until the end of the year some 1.7 million cars will be sold. And what about Audi? Audi is thinking about the future.
They were tipped to reveal the forward-looking concept at the 2014 LA Auto Show last November. Autocar says that it is a coupe with four doors featuring latest design from Audi and A9 flagship. Marc Lichte is design chief of Audi and in charge of the concept design. He took over the design job late last year.
He got trained in Volkswagen Group on the design of Passat and Golf. The design of the latest four rings star is a step forward towards better compliance with the underlying construction and engineering. The concept features sharp creases along body, laser headlights and single-frame grille typical for Audi. The platform is MLB Evo, which is the largest one approved for the A8 and A9 series.
Finally, four doors coupes are not typical flagships only for Audi. Japanese luxury brand Infiniti is planning the same. They will unveil Q80 Inspiration concept, available as four-door and traditional coupe at the 2014 Paris Auto Show during next month. We will keep you informed.
