Only few items of 1954 Mercedes 300SL AMG were built and The Sultan of Brunei was the first one to introduce AMG on the Gullwing classic.
He was the owner of six 300SL cars which were all tuned by Affalterbach. After that the upgrade became optional for everybody, but the price for remaining five car owners was additional million Euros. One of them will be sold on RM Auction in Monaco in May.
The 1954 Mercedes 300SL AMG has body made of steel and features huge number of new parts. The car runs on 6.0-liters V8 engine delivering 380 hp and 430 lb-ft torque. The suspension is updated, there are new alloys and better brakes. The starting price will be one million dollars.
