This is actually one of the company’s departments, but the name became a concept with a much broader meaning

Chrysler’s department Mopar (Motor and Parts) is in charge of parts, servicing and customer care. This department was officially established in 1937 although the term itself could be seen from the beginning of the twenties.

The sign Mopar is found on all original parts and car accessories of Chrysler Group and sometimes it can also be seen on cars that are produced at a special order or overhauled, whether  road or race cars. Today this department is developing into a factory tuner of its kind.

This name became so famous in the USA that all Chrysler Group vehicles are referred to under the name of Mopar by the press and all its admirers. If you open any of the specialized publications, websites or books that are dealing with the cars produced by Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth, Imperial, De Soto, RAM and sometimes even Jeep and Eagle, you will always find this name.We must also mention that recently, Mopar’s accessories can be found on Fiat’s cars produced for the American market.
